- We assisted a major international fashion house in establishment of a regional presence based in Dubai, with significant operations in Abu Dhabi and Kuwait.
- Advise U.S. corporations on compliance with the sometimes conflicting demands of U.S. law and U.A.E. law on boycott matters.
- Advise U.S. corporations and issuers of U.S. securities on the requirements of the United States Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, which prohibits corrupt payments to officials of foreign governments.
- Advise foreign weapons vendors on compliance with the prohibition observed by the General Headquarters of the UAE Armed Forces on the appointment of intermediaries in respect of sales to the GHQ. We have appeared as expert counsel in foreign court proceedings on this issue.
- Rendering opinions to the trans-national organizations for at least a decade on the enforceability of its standard financial agreements under UAE law. We also render opinions to commercial banks on the enforceability of these standard financial agreements (including the ISDA Master Agreement, the GMRA, the OSLA, the GESLA, and the GMSLA) under the laws of Abu Dhabi and the laws of Dubai.
- Advise U.S. corporations and their overseas subsidiaries on compliance with international sanctions. The most important of these today are the multilateral sanctions against Iran, combined with unilateral American sanctions against Iran.
